Thaipusam.

This morning I had the opportunity to witness the Thaipusam celebrations in here Singapore. A festival celebrated in Little India, in honour of Murugan, the Hindu God of war.

It was an amazing procession with devotees carrying different types of Kavadi (burdens) varying from pots of milk to shrines affixed to the bearers body by long sharpened rods, chains and hooks.

The beautiful colours, smells and textures made it a very special experience for me. And a wonderful opportunity to take some pictures.
